Education:
- Virginia Commonwealth University, Ph.D., 2006
Research Interests:
- Organophosphate Neurotoxicity, Gulf War Illness, nerve agent countermeasures
- Acquired Epilepsy and co-morbidities (depression, and cognitive deficits)
- Calcium signaling, anti-epileptic drugs, cannabinoids
Understanding the molecular bases of disorders of neuronal excitability has been the underlying theme of our research. Under the purview of the DOD Gulf-War Illness Research Program and the NIH CounterACT Research Program, we are identifying calcium-signaling based therapeutics for the effective treatment of immediate and long-term neurological consequences of organophosphate pesticide and nerve agent exposures. My laboratory is committed to scientific education and research and we welcome students and investigators who would like to partner with us on this mission. Please visit our lab website for further details.
